Asus EEE PC 900 Netbook – Dining Room Table Reviews

Posted on June 29th, 2010 by admin

LATEST NEWS: The full review of the 900HA, the successor of the 900, can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASi_LvtvPAM .

=========================================

Review of the Asus EEE PC 900 mini-notebook from my dining room table.

The Ubuntu-EEE screenshots you see in the video are actually from the Ubuntu-EEE Live CD. I did install and thoroughly test Ubuntu-EEE for my review, but had already installed Windows 2000 when I realized I had completely forgotten to record any screenshots of the Ubuntu installation.

I can be such a n00b sometimes… :)

To install Windows 2000, you’ll have to create a new installation disc with the nLite utility available at http://www.nliteos.com . You’ll need to include the latest Windows 2000 Service Pack and the drivers from the EEE PC 900’s Windows XP driver disc, otherwise the Windows 2000 installation will fail to start.

One of the best tweaks you can perform under Windows is to move the swap file from the primary to the secondary solid-state drive. You’ll have more room for your applications, and there will be fewer read/write accesses to the primary drive.

A correction. One of the sample clips was mistakenly credited as “The Next Great Canadian Prime Minister. The title is actually “Canada’s Next Great Prime Minister”, which you can find at http://www.cbc.ca/nextprimeminister .

need help with mandarin translation please!?

Posted on June 29th, 2010 by admin

hey all just wondering if someone can translate a few things for me in mandarin

1. where are you?
2. where are you/we going?
3. why?
4. ok

thanks!!!

In pinyin:

1. ni3 zai4 nar3 (ne)?
2. ni3 qu4 nar3? or: wo3men/ zan2men qu4 nar3?
3. wei4 shen2me/ wei4 sha3?
4. hao3 (most people understand it if you say ok though)

In 2, wo3men means we, and zan2men means we including the listener

In characters (simplified):

1. 你在哪儿(呢)?
2. 你去哪儿? or: 我们/咱们去哪儿?
3. 为什么?/为啥?
4. 好.
